hkSFV is an integrity file creator and checker for Windows. It is an application that can be used to verify the integrity of files using an SFV file. These days, files that are distributed over the Internet often come with an SFV file. This file keeps the information of the original files when they were sent. When you get the files, you can use hkSFV to make sure that the files weren't corrupted on the way to you, that can often happen.

hkSFV is a very simple and small application. It can be used both to create SFV files or to check them. When you install it, hkSFV automatically opens all .SFV files in your system. So checking files for integrity is as easy as double-clicking the .sfv file. The application will show a green circle with an OK mark in it when files pass the test, and a red circle with a cross when files do not pass the test. There is a legend menu that shows all the available icons for quick reference. I like the fact that hkSFV has a comment tab that shows the information about the .sfv file when it was first created. It shows the file sizes for all the files that were checked and also the dates. Users can even leave comments for end-users.
